Here is another longer post I originally shared on my Instagram & figured I’d share here again. I hope you like it!
Have you ever been in a season in your life where you’ve been told to wait? I mean, you’re just itching to get to another chapter of you life, whether it be in your career, relationships, or other things - but alas, nothing is coming to be no matter how hard you try. It’s sometimes so disheartening! You’ve planted the seeds of your hopes & dreams, but nothings come of them yet. What do you do?
Sometimes I have a tendency to confuse “waiting” for “doing nothing”, which doesn’t have to be the case at all. Especially since the thought of doing nothing ally all makes me (& I’m sure others too) feel useless. That being said, here’s a new perspective on waiting- It’s a great opportunity for you to learn! Learn from your experiences that got you to this point. Learn something new that you hadn’t been able to in the past! Learn, learn, learn!
Create a “Learning Season” from your “Waiting Season”. That’s what I’ve decided to do in my life currently. Although I’m no longer in formal schooling, I decided to take my free time & use it to learn, because, well... why not? I’ve got enough time & resources at this stage in my life to expand my knowledge & experience right now (even is small ways) as I wait for other things in my life to come into fruition.
In the coming months I’ve decided to learn something I’ve deep down always wanted to - other languages! I’m always so in awe of people who’ve put in the effort to be bi- or multi- lingual. So I recently thought to myself, why not try! And the languages I’ll be learning are Spanish (with the help of my amazing Dad & Duolingo) & Korean (with the help of Talk To Me In Korean). I’m so excited for this because not only will it be downright cool to know, it’ll also give me yet another way to connect to people, which fills me with so much joy!
I’ll also be taking a course to become a certified life coach as well! This has been something that has intrigued me for a few years now & I finally took the leap & enrolled in a course that resonated with me at Beautiful Your Coaching Academy. I have no idea what to expect, but I know it’ll be a time of growth for me, both in my skills in helping others & knowledge of myself. Like with my pursuit of language learning, I’m so excited about embarking on this too!
So remember, waiting for your big hopes & dreams to come to pass doesn’t have to make you feel useless or discouraged. It can be a wonderful time to grow even further in other areas of your life if you choose to make it so. I believe in you!
“Lord, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God.”
